2009 International Workshop on

Network Storage and Data Management (NSDM’09)

June 25-27, 2009, Seoul, Korea

in conjunction with

11th IEEE Int. Conference on High Performance Computing and Communications

 (HPCC-09)

Introduction

In recent years network storage has emerged as an important systems research field driven by the demand for scalable storage structures to satisfy the growing needs of Internet services. Massive storage systems require storage technologies, scalable data systems, and operations concepts capable of managing hundreds of petabytes of data. A number of challenges, however, make massive network storage and data management exciting research areas those have made significant advances in recent years.

This workshop intends to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss cutting edge research on network storage and data management. By discussing ongoing research, the workshop will expose participants to the most recent developments in data management and network storage systems and technologies.

Topics of Interest

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Storage manageability, reliability, availability and security
  • Storage performance and scalability
  • Storage networking
  • Evaluation of networked storage systems
  • Storage management software and systems
  • Archival storage system
  • File systems, object-based storage, block-level storage
  • Distributed metadata management
  • Data grid
  • Web data management
  • Web search
  • Storage virtualization
  • Cloud storage
  • Energy aware storage
  • Solid state drive (SSD)
  • Caching, replication, and consistency
  • Database storage issues

Submission Guidance

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All papers are refereed through a peer review process. Authors should submit research and application papers following the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: two columns, single-spaced, including figures and references, using 10 fonts, and number each page. Page limit for camera ready workshop papers in IEEE CS style is 6 pages. It is expected that the proceedings of the workshop programs will be published by IEEE CS. The accepted workshop papers are also eligible for journal publication. Authors of accepted papers, or at least one of them, are expected to register and present their work at the conference.

Interested authors are invited to submit a full paper to nsdm09@gmail.com before the deadline.

While sending your paper please mentions in subject “Paper for NSDM’09”
